finally. the end of a long day was here, and oli felt like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders. the set for bring me the horizon had been at an earlier time than usual today. and, seeing this as an opportunity as an 'off day,' oli was in a hurry to get off that stage, and into the shower. so, the second the show was over, and oli had signed a handful of autographs: he was done. it was to oliver's knowledge that the rest of the band had hung out at their specified venue after that to hang out with fans, or watch the next show. oli just wanted to take a, in his opinion, well-deserved break. so he laid low.... atleast until the crowds dwindled. and that time was now.
the tall boy pushed open the door of the bus hesitantly; possibly one of the few times when he was actually timid, and trying to remain under the radar. he watched a set of security guards walk past - shining flashlights here and there as the sun began to go down. oli figured they were checking for any stragglers before the gates closed on california for the night. the coast seemed clear to the brit though, and a sly smile eased over his face. he hopped off the bus with sudden eagerness; ready to explore the grounds after-dark. he maneuvered through the parking lot, and (unneccasarily) cut his path short to the merch booths by hopping a fence.
his main goal was just to find someone to spend time with, at this point. and his best bet for turning up a friend? no better place to look than his own band's merch table, since that had been the routine for the past few nights. he adjusted the loose hat on his head quietly; tucking a few loose strands of his dark hair over his ears as he sidled into the tent. oliver poked around for a little bit in the shabby lighting before sensing another presences behind him. his lips formed a pout of ambiguity, and he attempted to call out the other occupant in the tent. however, once he saw a flash of blonde hair, his suspicions died, and a smile played up on his lips again. "'lo baja," he chirped; looking over his shoulder, before attempting to pay attention to the merch in order for tomorrow.

Though, she wasn't up on the stage performing for the fans, life on tour still wasn't easy for Baja. Being a Merch Seller wasn't as easy as it seemed. She'd had to deal with countless Bring Me The Horizon obssesed, teenaged girls. How Fun. They always had the worse attitudes, I mean, really. How was it her fault if they didn't carry the shirt you wanted in an X-Large. Christ. Despite dealing with rude fans, Baja enjoyed her job very much.
The sun had set, and thankfully, the night was coming to an end. Baja would be getting ready to box all of the un-sold Merch back up, and clean up whatever else was lying around. She looked around, people were such pigs, really. Baja felt bad for the maintnence crew who would be picking up soda cans, wrappers, and half-eaten food , for hours. Baja groaned, she was getting sick of the humidity already, and tour had barely started. I guess you could say Baja hadn't really dressed for the weather. Typically one wouldn't wear black skinny jeans when it's ninetey degrees out. But, atleast she'd been smart enough to wear a thin, white, tank top. Baja looked a mess, but , that was the least of her worries right now.
Baja began to put stuff away, hoping no last minute fans would come to the booth. She put the shirts in boxes by detail, then by size. As for everything else? the posters, pictures, bracelets, etc. She just threw them in a box. Though, her job required her to put things away orderly, she didn't care about that right now. She just wanted to get out of the heat. She wasn't really paying attention, but heard someone talking to her. Turning around to see who it was, she smiled. With that accent?, how didn't she recognize him. "Hey Oli", She replied, with a smile. She turned back to her work.

oli looked back to the blonde upon his recognition, a friendly smirk crossing his sly features. he watched her work for a minute before she turned her back, but his gaze remained on her all the while. it had been a while since he'd actually talked to her on a decent level of conversation, compared to the occasional breeze-shooting small talk of 'hey' and 'hello.' oli was never one to be called speechless, so he surprised hmself with his quiet manner; atleast for the time being. he snapped out of his daze in a moment after scratching his head and blinking his eyes. earth to oli.
apparently oli had lost a couple hundred brain cells in his extra hour of downtime, or so it would seem. why he couldn't come up with anything productive to say was beyond him. usually, he'd have to get paid to shut up. refolding one of the shirts, he sidled closer to baja before leaning against her slightly. "d'you hang out in here all day?" the brunette pondered aloud; looking around the tent with a scrunched nose. "love, you'd rather hang out in here than come say hi to me?' he inquired; looking slightly hurt, although he was only teasing. as usual.
a sigh rolled out of oli, and the gesture sent his hair splaying across his face, still slightly damp from his shower. he looked at baja from the corner of his eye. "come to think of it, i haven't seen you much lately on the bus, or anywhere." oli muttered; a hint of underlying humor sliding in his tone. "you aren't avoiding me, are you, parsons?" he jeered; working hard to hide a smirk.
why. do. i. suck. so. badly? sorry. D: i cannot focus. like. at all. ughhh.

Considering Baja was in a lethargic slump, she half assed her work and finished quickly. Putting the last few shirts away, she closed up the boxes . Now, she could go do something fun, not that her job wasn't fun. She just, hadn't been in the mood to work today. Baja had dealt with too many obnoxious teenage girls with snarky attitudes today, and it hadn't been a good one.
Baja let her blue eyes wander over to the boy, a smile spreading across her face. It'd been awhile since she had hung out with Oli, she missed him. actually. She also knew that she'd been a bit rude a moment ago, kind of ignoring him. But, she was sure Oli would be fine. Sorry Hun, I was finishing up with the Merch, she appologized. She smiled again at his jokingly hurt look on his face. It was cute, in a little kid way. Yea, it was busy as hell today, she laughed, Everyone wants a t-shirt or a picture with your pretty face on it. She grinned.
Ninety Percent of the girls who came to the booth cooed at how cute Oliver was, typically the teenagers. She even got a few boys talking about the brit, he was quite popular. Baja looked around for her shoes, yes, she was barefoot. This was kind of a routine for her, she rarely wore shoes. Unfourtanetly, her feet were filthy. Baja reached down and grabbed the white flip flops from under the table, which had been covered with t-shirts an hour or so ago .
I couldn't avoid you if I tried, she paused and laughed, You aren't avoiding me, are you sykes? , She said with a serious face. Though, obviously with a joking mannor. Now thinking about it, She hadn't seen Oli at all today, except for now. Unusual. She slipped the flip flops on her feet and grabbed her Vitamin Water. Thank God, the night of work was completely over. [/sub]

oli shrugged his shoulders gently as she apologized. it was no real skin off his back. he was just looking to make conversation, although he still seemed to be failing at that. majorly. "do you own a shirt with my pretty face on it? or is the real thing good enough?" oli mused; the hum-drum present earlier in his voice fading with the newly appointed smugness.
"you've got to be kidding," he muttered; glaring at her for a moment as she left his side, and hit him with her own friendly banter. "right." oli sniffed; sarcastic as he brushed off his shoulder, swiping away her apparently outrageous question. "come on, now. you know me better. i just live to spend time with you," he chuckled, failing to keep a straight face for long.
"speaking of which," oli drawled with a mischievous look pinned on his lips. "where're we going to stir up trouble tonight? i'm in a baja withdrawal." it was up to her.

Baja looked at Oli, she'd always loved his tattoos. It was like he was one giant piece of art. Baja laughed at Oliver's smart remark, he was always a bit cocky. Truth be told, she owned quite a few shirts with the band on it. But, that's what happens when you get free Merch. Actually, I do. But, seeing your pretty face is much, much better in person. Baja's lips curved into a slight smile. Though, she'd sort of sounded like a creeper. She knew Oli would take it as a joke, he always did.
Baja mockingly laughed at Oli, who was brushing his shoulder off. She waited to answer, thinking of a smart-ass reply. Oh, I know. It's because you're just so in love with me A grin spread across her face, she loved messing with Oli. Don't you try to deny it, Mr. Sykes. Baja struggled to keep a straight face, and succeeded.
Looking around, it was almost empty on the grounds now. Which meant, her and Oliver could go stir up some trouble, as he'd requested. Really?, I was enjoying the peace and quiet without you, She smiled at him sweetly, and sarcastically. But, Yea. I could use a fun night. What do you want to do?

the lean boy raised a brow at baja's curved smile. "i don't blame you," he chimed - thoroughly quite pleased with himself. "i mean, it's like comparing a painting of a... sunset to the real thing." oli said slowly; words slurring together out of uncertainty, and a rare lack of self-esteem. he had absolutely no idea what the hell he had just said. that chit-chat about sunsets was as deep as he got, and even that poor figurative language was pushing the line. the young laugh that rolled from his smirking lips revealed his mixed feelings. "nevermind."
at the sound of her laugh, oliver rolled his eyes. "oh. yes. you've caught me in the act." he purred; his nonchalant tone casually conveying sarcasm. he moved away from the haphazardly folded shirts, and bumped hips with her as she put on her shoes. "i'm madly in love with you, and there would be no point in life if you were not in it." he muttered down to her - voice smooth as velvet before his laugh broke through once again. "oh, god. you're a crazy bird, baja. i don't even know what love is." true story.
"aww," oli pulled a face, nudging her slightly. "sorry to just ruin your day by showing up." he laughed. "if it won't drag you down too much, you think you could just take a walk with me around the grounds?" it was nothing special, but they got to just talk for a while, which was growing more and more rare of a situation. "i feel disconnected from you, y'know?" it saddened him, to be pretty honest. you can be surrounded by thousands of people, and still feel pretty alone.
where hath my oli muse gone? so sorry.

By this time, it seemed like no one else was around. The sun was set, and everyone had pretty much cleared out. Baja looked at Oliver with a confused face, she'd never heard anything even relatively deep come out of his mouth. She laughed a little, it was a bit shocking. "Oh Damn. Oli's getting all deep and what not.", her face displaying a jokingly shocked face. Baja moved a strand of blond hair from her face. Her hair wasn't cooperating, and the day's humidity had made it frizz up more then usual. how pleasant.
Baja sat on the table, legs crossed 'Indian style'. She looked around, it was actually peaceful on the grounds. Only an hour earlier, there were countless amounts of fans running amuck. It amazed her how big the place seemed without other people there. Looking back over at Oli, she let out a laugh. He was so full of shit. "I just know you so well, obviously.", she gestured to herself. "I mean who wouldn't be totally in love with me? , I'm just that cute", she said in a sarcastic manor. Nor do I, thank god, Baja had a more serious face now. She didn't exactly want to find love, she was a little scared of it.
"Mhm, Sounds good to me.", She slid down from the table. Baja started walking, bumping into Oli with her shoulder when passing him. Sort of pay-back for hitting her with his hip while she was trying to put her flipflops back on. She stopped and turned to look at him, "Any destination in mind? or would you like to just wander around" She smiled at him. Exploring the grounds sounded like a good idea to her. "Well, then hows about we get connected again?" Though, she'd met many new people on the tour, she had missed hanging out with Oli like they used too.
Eek. I'm muse-less tonight. Sorrrry love.
